Avoid The “All or Nothing” Approach

Avoid The “All or Nothing” Approach

Let’s talk results…

So many people fall into what I call the ”all or nothing” trap.

That is, they buy expensive equipment (even though they just started) and proclaim to the world how ”fitness is their life” only to give up and never go to the gym again (They look pretty silly doing this too)

Instead have a more balanced approach than most people.

Commit to the 80/20 rule.

That is, just stick to your diet 80% of the time and just stick to your workout 80 % of the time.(You don’t have to be perfect you’re human after all) you just have to be good enough, most of the time.

This may be fitness heresy (don’t tall anyone I said this) but you can even eat a little junk food every now and then, as long as you stay committed 80% of the time.

Now, don’t get me wrong, jumping in with both legs can be a good strategy (and provide you with a great kick in the … you know)

but when it comes to fitness it’s all about the long haul.

Not days, but weeks, months… even years.

It takes about 30 days to craft a new habit.

In my personal experience it takes a little longer.

Which is why the Alpha Workout Challenge (starting in January) is 6 weeks long. It’ll give you the motivation to go hard at your fitness life and, most importantly, it will lay the foundation for your entire year.

Just imagine, a six-week head start on the year.

You’ll be able to see how other people that join the gym in January (oh the horror of the January filled gyms) will disperse as they lose momentum and say ”next year I’ll do it”

You’ll be the only constant (along with a tiny society of likeminded individuals) who stands proud after six weeks with a newly formed habit that’ll stay with you for life.

I get it… the first few days are the hardest. Your brain will try to trick you, and you need a lot of willpower to commit to it BUT…

With the challenge you won’t need willpower, you’ll have a ”Why” simply by being in the competition.
